The new transmission standards EIA / TIA 568B (ISO / IEC 11801: 2002) for high frequencies, providing quality materials, certified and tested with devices and methods according to the standard is the only guarantee of a return on investment in network electronics last generation.
The Ethernet twisted pair cable consists of eight single copper wires with PVC insulation, interwoven by helically pairs. These cables are coated shielded (if applicable) and coating PVC cover halogen free.
The behavior of two parallel wires on running a current with a certain frequency causes the generated waves are canceled due to braiding.
Due to this interlocking arrangement, the interference between the inner and outer pairs are minimal.
Color coding drivers allow their identification, the standard uses four colors: orange, green, brown and blue; combined with white to complete the remaining four and make up couples.
The wires offered are:
- UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair): pairs without shielding widely used in local networks because of its low cost and easy to use. They are not recommended for long-range networks.
- STP (Shielded Twisted Pair): pairs with common shielding mylar mesh used in local networks. Recommended for long-range local networks. Its impedance is 150 ohms.
- FTP (Foiled Twisted Pair): pairs shielded in pairs mylar mesh used in local networks. Recommended for long-range local networks. Its impedance is 120 ohms.
